Hola y bienvenidos!!

Este es "my guy" quilt. Lo terminé en junio de 2009.

Es uno de mis quilts favoritos. El diseño es de los talentosos Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr de Fun Quilts y aparece publicado en la revista American Patchwork & Quilting de junio de 2009. Si quieres ver más datos sobre las instrucciones, sólo da click aquí.

Lo que más me gusta de este quilt es la simplicidad de su diseño y lo hermoso que luce la combinación del café obscuro con los diferentes tonos de azul. Fue la primera vez que trabajé abriendo las costuras al planchar y sinceramente eso facilita mucho el trabajo del armado y hace más fácil el acolchado. Fue un quilt del que disfrute mucho trabajando en él desde el principio y que en esos días de otoño sigo disfrutando cada vez que me envuelvo en él... originalmente este quilt iba a ser para Alex... pero creo que es más mío que de él...

This is "my guy" quilt. I finished it on june 2009.

It's one of my favorite quilts. The desing is by the talented Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr of Fun Quilts and it was published in the American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine, june 2009 issue. If you want to see more info about it, just click here.

What I love about this quilt is the simplicity of the design and how beautiful it looks the combination of dark brown with the different shades of blue. It was the first time I worked with the seams open when I was ironing and it makes so much easier all the assembly work and the quilting. It was a quilt which I really enjoyed working on it from the beginning and in these autumn days I still enjoy every time that I wrap myself in it... originally this quilt was made for Alex ... but I think it is more mine than of him...

En alguna playa del pacífico. No recuerdo de cuándo fueron esas fotos, pero creo que fue entre el final del año 1978 y antes de la primavera de 1979. Mi hermano venía en camino.

Desde que recuerdo, mi papá siempre trató de que tuviéramos algún viaje de vacaciones por lo menos una vez al año. A veces era difícil, algunas veces nos llevó lejos y otras a las playas más cercanas, hubo camping y una vez tuvo que pagar un par de noches en un hotel de lujo, pero lo que más recuerdo es que siempre fue divertido!

I don't remember when these photos were taken, but I think it was between the end of 1978 and before the spring of 1979. My brother was in the way.

Since I can remember, my dad always tried to give us a holiday trip at least once a year. It was sometimes difficult, a few times the trip was away and others to the nearest beaches, we did camping and once, he paid a couple of nights in a luxury hotel. But what I remember most is always was fun!

Llevo poco más de un par de semanas viendo esto sobre la pared de mi cuarto de costura. Empecé muy emocionada cortanto las telas y dado lo fácil del patrón, creí que terminaría el quilt en unos cuantos días, pero sigue ahí, esperándome. Espero darme tiempo esta semana para avanzar un poco y no perder el entusiasmo...

I have a little more than a couple of weeks seeing this on my sewing room's wall. I started so excited when I was cutting the fabrics and because the pattern is so easy to follow I thought it would finish the quilt in a few days, but it is still there, waiting for me. I hope this week I'll have time to work with and don't lose the enthusiasm...

Me perdí tres corner view. No he visitado blogs y amigos y necesito ponerme al corriente con mis correos electrónicos. Y mientras ustedes siguen viniendo y dejando comentarios aquí. Son lo mejor, en verdad aprecio muchísimo su amabilidad y el tiempo que gastan aquí. En serio GRACIAS!

Siento como si me hubiese ausentado por mucho tiempo desde mi último post, pero sigo aquí, sólo que a veces las palabras y las fotografías no salen y creo que es mejor no forzarlo, no me gusta la idea de que el blogging parezca o se sienta como una obligación...
I feel like I was away for a long time since my last post, but I'm here, just sometimes the words and the photos don't come out and I think it is better do not force the things, I don't like the idea of blogging as an obligation...

La semana pasada cumplí 34 y como en años anteriores todo fue tranquilo (tal vez para algunos aburrido), pero me gusta así, sin resacas de por medio. Alex y yo fuimos a comer y por la noche recibí flores y mis papás estuvieron de visita con todo y un delicioso pay de queso que hizo mi mamá, que fue tan bueno, que tampoco alcancé a tomarle fotos para mostrarles...

Last week I turned 34 and as in past years all was tranquility here (maybe for someone a little boring), but i like it, there was no hangovers. Alex and I went out to eat and by night I received flowers and my parents were visiting us with a very delicious cheesecake made by my mom, and it was so good that I couldn't take photos to show, sorry...
