lately

Los días en casa han pasado tranquilos, pues aunque hemos estado muy ocupados con la bebé,  he tenido algunas salidas al jardín para comprobar la rica calidez que tiene el sol de otoño... 

Alex terminó nuestro gallinero (ya les compartiré fotos) antes de que naciera Sabina, pero decidimos esperar a que ella llegara para tener las gallinas y estar todo el tiempo en casa para poder atenderlas... así que desde la semana pasada el gallinero ya tiene habitantes y sorprendentemente nuestros perros se han portado de lo mejor con ellas...

The days at home have gone peaceful, and although we have been very busy with the baby, I've had short trips to the garden to enjoy the marvelous warmth that has the autumn sun...

Alex finished our chicken coop (I'll share pictures) before Sabina was born, but we decided to wait to have the chicks until she was here and we can be at home all the time to take care of them ... so since last week we have the chickens already, and surprisingly our dogs have behaved so good with them ...

Nuestra querida gatita Lola ha estado triste últimamente... una días después de que llegamos a casa con Sabina notamos que dormía mucho más y salía muy poco al jardín... en días pasados ha comido muy poco y se le nota deprimida, hoy Alex la llevó al vete y esperamos que no sea nada grave...

Our dear kitty Lola has been sad lately ...  days after we arrived home with Sabina we noticed that she slept so much and she almost didn't go to the garden.... in last days has eaten very little and she looks depressed that Alex took her to the vet today and we all hope it's nothing serious ...

Iniciando el año comencé con este proyecto en Flickr... un grupo llamado I'm looking down (estoy mirando hacia abajo), en donde la idea es simplemente agregar fotos que se han tomado viendo hacia abajo... quieres unirte? todos son bienvenidos!

muchas muchas gracias por todos sus comentarios dando la bienvenida a Sabina. Hemos tenido unos días maravillosos en casa, simplemente disfrutando de su presencia...

Sus dos abuelas han hecho de su llegada, todo un acontecimiento que parece no dejan de celebrar. Mi madre nos ha consentido a Alex y a mí con su deliciosa y reconfortante comida durante toda la semana y tanto amigos y familiares no han dejado de llamar, escribir y visitarnos... gracias por todo ese cariño!

Her two grandmothers have made about her arrival, all an event that seems don't stop to celebrating. My mother has been indulged to Alex and me with her delicious and comforting meals all the week and both friends and family have not stopped calling, writing and visiting us... thanks so much for all this love!

Welcome Sabina...!

Tengo el corazón lleno de dicha y las palabras difícilmente podrán explicar lo que esta nueva mamá siente desde el momento en que tuve a Sabina en mis brazos... mi pequeña está bien y saludable y yo sólo puedo agradecer la enorme felicidad que ha llegado a nuestra casa... ahora somos una familia...

My heart is full and words aren't good enough to explain what this new mom feels since the moment I had my baby girl in my arms.... my baby girl is fine and healthy and I just can be more than grateful for all the happiness that came to our home... we are a family now...

Retazos de Otoño

Usando de nuevo latas usadas y retazos de tela, la ventana de mi cuarto de costura tiene nuevas plantas, que parecen felices de recibir el solecito de Otoño...

With reused empty cans and some fabric scraps, the window of my sewing room has new succulent plants, that they are happy to be in touch with the Autumn's sun.

Con mucha emoción les comparto que mi blog fue presentado en la edición de verano 2012 de la Revista Artful Blogging... sí, fue en la edición del pasado verano, pero aún me siento feliz y agradecida por haber sido parte de esta bellísima revista....

i’m so excited to be featured in the summer 2012 issue of Artful Blogging Magazine.... yes it was on the last summer issue but I'm still feel happy and super thankful to be a part of this beautiful magazine!

Es un baby quilt que terminé hace un par de semanas pero que no les había mostrado. Lo hice para la babé de mi prima Marcy, la pequeña Lila Grace...

siempre me ha gustado el simple patchwork de cuadros, y creo que al ser un diseño sencillo y tradicional siempre luce bien...!
I always like the easy patchwork, I think a simple and traditional desing always looks great...!

Lately

los días han pasado con calma entre desayunos tarde, sorbos de descafeinado (que no es mi favorito), sesiones de costura, siestas y visitas a la ciudad para arreglar pendientes...

También hace unos cuantos días recibí unos hermosos prints de la pintora Marisa Redondo, (ya los tengo enmarcados y están a la espera de que les encuentre su sitio en las paredes de la casa), el trabajo de Marisa es verdaderamente exquisito y si no conocen su tienda River Luna, les recomiendo que se den una vuelta, está llena de cosas hermosas!

these days have been passed quietly between late breakfast, lots of decaf (that isn't my favorite), sewing sessions, naps and short visits to the city...
Also a few days ago I received some prints from artist Marisa Redondo, (they are already framed and waiting for their place on my walls), Marisa's work is truly exquisite and if you don't know her shop River Luna, I really recommend that you go there, it's full of beautiful stuff!
