Finally I finished the quilt that I started to work with it at begining of last March to give as a birthday present to my sister... I gave it to her a little bit late, but since I'm not been so much productive lately I think it wasn't to bad after all...
The fabrics that I used I bought them a couple of years ago and since I saw them I thougt they would be perfect to make a quilt for Verónica and after seeing the smile on her face when she saw it, I knew I was right...
and if you're interested, here's what I used:
15 fat quarters
1/2 yard of fabric for sashing
Each fat quarter cut into six strips of 3.5 ", so you'll have 90 strips of 3.5". After that you separate the two groups of 60 strips each:
1) 3.5 "x 17.5"
2) 3.5 "x 8.5"
For the sashing you need 4 strips of 3.5" to sew at the end and have 2 long strips.
The strips are sewn into segments of 20 and with the sashing strips are delineated the three segments of the 8.5" strips... so after be piecing, basting, quilting and binding, without wasting fabric (you'll not have left overs from the fat quartes), you'll get a good nap quilt about 60" x 79.
