Iniciando el año comencé con este proyecto en Flickr... un grupo llamado I'm looking down (estoy mirando hacia abajo), en donde la idea es simplemente agregar fotos que se han tomado viendo hacia abajo... quieres unirte? todos son bienvenidos!

at the beggining of this year  I started this project on Flickr ... a group called I'm looking down, where the idea is simply to add pictures that have been taken looking down ... want to join? all of you are welcome!

voltea hacia abajo, qué es lo que ves?

Look down, what do you see?

Iniciando el año decidí abrir un grupo en Flickr llamado I'm looking down, cuál es la idea? bueno creo que es bastante simple, tomar tu cámara, mirar hacia abajo y disparar. Estoy seguro que habrá un montón de descubrimientos hermosos e interesantes...

Starting the year I decided to open a Flickr group called I'm looking down. What is the idea?  it's pretty simple: take your camera, look down and shoot. I'm sure we'll find a lot of interesting and beautiful discoveries...

Adios 2011

Cada vez que llego al final de un año, siento que esos 365 días pasaron muy rápido. Con esa sensación me pregunto si aproveché mi tiempo durante esos doce meses... o si lo disfruté...  sólo basta recordar un poquito y creo que si sentimos que el año pasó rápido fue porque estuvimos muy ocupados!

Every time I'm at the end of a year, I feel that those 365 days passed very quickly. With that feeling I wonder if I used well my time during those twelve months ... or if I enjoyed...   

But thinking back a bit and I can see if the year passed quickly just was because we were very busy!

Fue un año muy pesado en mi trabajo pero afortunadamente Alex y yo pudimos tener dos recesos en la playa, disfrutamos de la compañía de nuestros chuchos, amigos y familia en casa, en fiestas, en reuniones donde abundó la buena comida y el buen humor. Alex terminó de construir su taller de carpintería y también fue un buen año para mi tienda en Etsy. Disfrutamos de los días de lluvia en el verano y de las mañanas con niebla. Cosí mucho y aunque no terminé todos los quilts que hubiese querido, estoy contenta con los que hice para regalar y para nosotros. Pero lo mejor es haber llegado al final de 2011 con buena salud, amor y calma en nuestro hogar...

Was a very hard year in my job but luckily Alex and I had two vacations at  the beach, we enjoyed the company of pets, our friends and family at our home, at parties, in meetings where there were lots of good food and good humor. Alex finished to build his wood workshop and also it was a good year for my Etsy shop. We enjoyed the days of rain in summer and those foggy mornings. I sewed a lot and although I didn't finish all the quilts I wanted, I'm happy with all those I made for gifts and for us. But the best is can finish the 2011 with good health, love and a very calm life at home.

2011 fue un buen año y todo el tiempo estuve acompañada por todos ustedes que visitan mi blog y me alegran el día con sus comentarios y su constante apoyo. weekend at home

En todo el fin de semana no salí de casa ni tengo planes de hacerlo en lo que queda de este domingo... Alex fue al mercado hoy y como cada quince días, nos surtió de quesos y algunas frutas, pero también nos proveímos de nuestra pequeña huerta, que nos está dando un montón de calabazas...

...aunque tenía planeado trabajar en algunas cosas que ya tengo empezadas, me decidí por algo nuevo... cojines para nuestra cama, asi que empecé a elegir algunas telas y a coser un poco...

I didn't go out of home in all the weekend and I haven't plans to do it in the rest of this Sunday ... Alex went to the market today and as every two weeks, he came to home with a lot of cheese and some fruits and we provide from our small garden too, which is giving us a lot of zucchinis...

... although I had planned to work on some things that I have begun, I decided for something new ... I started to make new pillow cases for our bed, so I started to choose some fabrics and sew a bit...

the week (and the winners)

Perdón por el silencio de estos días, pero es que lo que debió ser una semana tranquila y de relax, se convirtió en puro ajetreo... hemos tenido visitas en casa y comidas al aire libre...    Sorry about the silence of these days, but what should have been a calm and relax week became just the opposite... every day we had visits and outside meals...También han sido días de sol y de viento... lamentablemente también desde el miércoles ha habido incendios en nuestro bosque y aunque el fuego no ha estado cerca de nuestra casa, sí lo han visto de cerca muchos de nuestros vecinos. Alex ha estado constantemente ayudando, de día y de noche y hace que me sienta orgullosa de él...     Also they have been days of sun and many wind ... unfortunately also since Wednesday has been forest fires, and although the fire has not been close to our house, many of our neighbors saw the flames pretty close to their homes. Alex has been constantly helping, day and night,  and makes me feel proud of him.

Sólo espero que el fin de semana sea más calmado y nos de oportunidad de descansar un poco antes de volver al trabajo... Just I hope the weekend will be calm and give us a chance to rest a bit before returning to work...

 siempre debería ser fácil detenerse y contemplar lo que hay a nuestro alrrededor... mucha luz, colores cambiantes y flores... cuán afortunados de tener un hermoso día lleno de sol y color!

it should be easier make a pause all the time to contemplate all the what is around us... sunshine, changing colors and flowers... we are so lucky to have a beautiful day full of sunlight and color!

perdón por el rosado... no es mi color favorito y puede llegar a hacerme sentir un poco ridícula vistiéndolo... pero a veces puede ser delicioso y como dulce para los ojos...

sorry about the pink... it is very far to be my favorite color, and it can makes me feel a bit ridiculous when I'm wearing it, but sometimes can be delicious and totally eye candy....

Sunday random moments

Ha sido un fin de semana tranquilo, hemos estado en casa, disfrutando de buen clima y teniendo cerca nuestros a nuestros chuchos y Lola... yo he estado trabajando en mi cuarto de costura, preparando nuevas cosas para mi tienda y planeando algunos regalos, pues desde el año pasado tenemos el propósito de no comprar nada de regalos en las grandes tiendas, sino tratar siempre de dar regalos hechos por nosotros, de nuestro jardín o por alguien más, pero que sea hecho en casa, excepto claro, cuando se trate de libros o de algún buen vino.... así que en vista de que vienen algunas fechas especiales, me he dado a la tarea de comenzar a trabajar y no esperar a tener el tiempo encima...

It's been a quiet weekend, we've been home, enjoying good weather with our buddies very close to us... I've been working on my sewing room on new things for my shop and planning some gifts, Alex and I are trying to not buy anything in big shops and give gifts made by us, from our garden, or made by someone else, but homemade, except of course when it comes to books or some good wine.... and because are comming some special dates, I started to work already and not expect to be with limited time...
