Hace unos días me puse a limpiar el armario en donde guardo mis telas para tener orden en el cuarto de costura... tanta tela y tan poco tiempo para coserlas! así que decidí poner algunas de ellas en venta.. así que son más que bienvenidas a mi tienda Etsy para echar un vistazo... estas son algunas de las linduras que se pueden encontrar ahí ...

polka dots blouse

Hice esta blusa para Sabina. La tela de lunares negros sobre blanco me gusta mucho, es como muy clásica, muy actual. Este tipo de blusas son super prácticas, pues no tienen botones, sino que por el elástico del escote, se ponen y quitan fácil. Para darle un toque diferente le puse un pequeño moño de listón en amarillo y como tengo suficiente tela para hacer más decidí tenerla a la venta en mi tienda Etsy, por si le quieren echar un vistazo.

I made this blouse for Sabina. I really like the polka dots fabric, it's like very classic but modern at the same.This kind of blouses are super practical, they do not have button closure,  It has adjustable elastic neckline that is very easy to pull on and take away easily. To give it a twist I put a small ribbon bow in yellow and as I have enough fabric to make more I decided to have it for sale in my Etsy shop, if you want to take a look.

Two baby quilts

Terminé dos baby quilts que son perfectos para una nena... usé telas en rosa, amarillo, verde, coral y turqueza que resaltan perfecto sobre el fondo blanco... ambos los acolché con líneas rectas y usé tela en color rosa sólido para la parte de atrás y bies en color amarillo...

I finished two baby quilts that are perfect for a baby girl ... I used fabrics in pink, yellow, green, coral and turquoise that perfectly highlight on the white background ... both are   quilted with straight lines and had solid pink fabric for the back and bias in yellow ...

Bright spring

 

Telas nuevas, pañales de tela y muchos proyectos que incluyen ropa para Sabina. 

Apenas cumplimos un mes desde que dejamos de usar pañales desechables y verdaderamente estamos felices con esa decisión, pues usar los de tela es más sencillo de lo que parece, así que además de ahorrarnos algo de dinero, el trasero de Sabina no está sentado en plásticos todo el tiempo. 

Comencé jugando con pequeños retazos de tela a hacer corazones y terminó siendo un miniquilt, y estoy pensando en hacer un pequeño tutorial. No he tenido mucho tiempo para hacer proyectos grandes o empezar un nuevo quilt (de lo que muero de ganas, por cierto), pero hacer ropa para Sabina me resulta muy satisfactorio y divertido. Hice un par de blusas más como esta y terminé un vestido que será regalo para la hija de unos amigos. Usé este patrón, fue bastante sencillo y luce super bonito.

Pensando en que ya pronto empezará con los alimentos sólidos y en sus actividades una vez que empiece a caminar, le hice a Sabina un chaleco/delantal que creo que le lucirá bien sobre un pañalero y a juego con unos bloomers. Hice unos cuantos más y ya están en mi tienda, por si quieren echarles un vistazo.   

Espero que el fin de semana me rinda un poco más y pueda pasar algo tiempo en mi cuarto de costura... ya veremos...

New fabric, cloth diapers and many projects including Sabina clothing. 
A month ago we stopped to use disposable diapers and we are truly happy with that decision, using cloth diapers is easier than it seems, so in addition to save some money, the little butt of my baby girl is not sitting on plastic all day.

I was playing with fabric scraps to make hearts and I made a miniquilt, also I'm thinking of doing a small tutorial about it. I haven't much time for big projects or to start a new quilt (can't wait to start another one, by the way), but make clothes for Sabina is very satisfying and fun to me. I made a couple of blouses like this one and a dress that will be a gift for the daughter of our friends. I used this pattern, it was pretty simple but looks really beautiful.

Thinking that my girl will soon begin with solid foods and activities once she starts to walk, I made a bib/apron that also I think it'll look lovely as a top on a onesie and matching with bloomers. I made a few more and they are in my shop already, if you want to take a look.

I hope can spend some time at my sewing room this weekend... we'll see....

slowly

Una disculpa por la pila de fotos que he puesto, pero es que me ha tomado un montón de tiempo hacer esos mini quilts.... poco a poco mis días comienzan a organizarse en casa, pues tener una bebé ha movido por completo mis horarios, mis mañanas pasan volando entre cada una de sus comidas y las tardes pareciera que se van en un suspiro, pues cuando ya me doy cuenta ya  anocheció, así que mis sesiones en mi cuarto de costura no han sido muy largas, pero aunque lento y con  pausas, al ver estos pequeños terminados siendo que he vuelto a la costureada!  I'm sorry about those many photos, but It has taken a lot of time making these mini quilts .... seems like my days at home beginning to organize slowly, have a baby completely moved my daily schedule: the mornings are flying between each of her meals and the afternoons pass like a sigh, because when I realize is all dark already, so my sessions at my sewing room aren't too long, but even slow and with many pauses, seeing these mini quilts make me feel like I'm back!

Haciendo cosas para bebé... empecé con unos baberos y toallitas repetidoras para mi bebé, pero luego me descubrí eligiendo más telas y terminé haciendo una pila de baberos de estarán en mi tienda en esta semana...

making baby stuff... I started with some baby bibs and burp cloths, but then I found myself choosing more fabrics and I finished a pile of more baby bibs that will be in my shop this week...

mi embarazo ya está de 36 semanas, por fin ya estoy en casa, así que trataré de aprovechar bien el tiempo antes del parto... I'm 36 weeks pregnant already and finally I'm at home now, so I'll try to spend more time in my sewing room before the childbirth...

días de Bazar

los días en el bazar pasaron rápido. Aunque Alex y yo estuvimos muy cansados desde el inicio por todo el trabajo previo que tuvimos, la experiencia ahí fue realmente increíble y de alguna forma estimulante, pues creo que aunque en Etsy existe el feedback, lo cierto es que no  hay como ver el rostro y la sonrisa de la gente que se acercó a nuestro stand, además de que escuchar que les gustó lo que hacemos nos hizo el día....

The bazaar's days passed really quickly. Although Alex and I were very tired since the beginning for all the previous work we had, the experience there was truly incredible and stimulating, because even when in Etsy exists the feedback, the truth is that there is nothing like see the face and the smile of people that was approaching to our stand and listen to they like our work made ​​our day.... 

además fue chidísimo porque conocimos gente nueva y talentosa que está haciendo cosas super lindas... quienes espero me disculpen que hasta ahora caigo en la cuenta de que aunque les compré a algunos de ellos e hice buenos trueques con otros, en todo el fin de semana no hice un tour por todo el bazar con cámara en mano para compartir sus creaciones... we met many talented people who are creating amazing stuff...  who I hope will forgive me  because I realize until now that although I bought from some of them and also I had wonderful swaps, I didn't a tour with camera in hand to share their creations...

Ojalá que el comercio local comience a crecer cada vez más en la ciudad y que la gente se de la oportunidad de probar nuevos productos que no son hechos en serie ni en grandes corporaciones... I hope that local commerce begins to grow more in the city and people give the opportunity to know new products that aren't made ​​in series or in big corporations...

Alex y yo estaremos en lo que será nuestro primer bazar de artesanos y artistas locales. Si quieres pasar y decir hola, estaremos este viernes 16 y hasta el domingo 18 en el café Rendez Vous, que se encuentra en el cruce de las calles Libertad y Colonias, en la colonia Americana.... además de bolsos, cojines, mini quilts, también tendré algunas de mis queridas suculendas con cubiertas de patchwork y bonitas telas.... y Alex hizo un montón de cosas super chidas!!

Alex and I will be in what is our first craft bazaar. Hola! les cuento emocionada que después de que Alex me hizo el soporte de madera para mis cintas, hizo más para mi tienda, así que ahora tengo un colaborador y me encanta que sea él... si quieren ver los modelos que terminó sólo pinchen aquí  ...lucen lindos, verdad?

y algo más que tengo para compartir... el año pasado Alex y yo regalamos a nuestros familiares y amigos un calendario de 2011, como un presente de fin de año. En ese tiempo Alex me dijo que por qué no hacía un calendario con algunas de mis fotos... fue sólo una idea, pero teniendo en cuenta que se acercan de nuevo las fiestas, hace unas semanas decidí hacerlo y les presento mi recién llegado calendario 2012! es algo especial para mí, pues las fotos que elegí han sido algunas de mis favoritas que he publicado aquí, por lo que definitivamente está ligado con mi blog y la relación que tengo con todos ustedes, algo que verdaderamente aprecio mucho...♥ ♥ ♥

Decidí imprimir una edición de 50 calendarios. Algunos calendarios los haré llegar a nuestros familiares y amigos al fin de este año, otros tantos los tengo disponibles en mi tienda pero también quiero compartirlo con ustedes.

...decidí tener en mi tienda un pequeño stock de estambre o cuerda de yute. Es el mismo que uso para envolver regalos y los paquetes que envío a mis queridos clientes. Es muy bonito y me encanta porque le da un toque rústico y natural a las envolturas de regalos y también se puede tejer, con gancho o aguja, usar en el jardín y muchas cosas más... así que con mucho gusto compartiré una madeja de estambre con quien quiera tenerlo, sólo tienen que dejar un comentario diciéndome cuál color les gustaría tener en caso de ganar (pueden ver todas las opciones de colores aquí). I decided to have a little stock of jute yarn/twine in my shop. Its the same twine that I use to wrap gifts and the packages I send to my lovely costumers. It's really beautiful and I love it because it gives a rustic and natural touch to the gifts wrap and also it can be knitted, use in the garden and much more ... so I'll be happy to share a skein of yarn with one lucky one who wants it, only leave one comment here telling me wich color you would like if you win (you can see all the color options here).
