it's beautiful outside

ohhh la primavera! tan anhelada y querida por todos!

ohhh spring! so longed and loved by all!

Hemos tenido unas semanas llenas de buenos momentos en casa. Yo tuve algunos días libres del trabajo y disfruté muchisimo este clima cálido. Sabina quiere pasar la mayor parte del tiempo en el jardín, y no la culpo, pues todo está verde, floreando: en el huerto (casi) todo creciendo...las zarzamoras no han dejado de brotar y pintarse de color y los árboles de mango ya tienen frutos... En nuestro gallinero, la semana pasada comenzaron a nacer pollitos, así que estar afuera tumbados al pasto o descansando en la hamaca es irresistible..

We've had a week full of good times at home. I had some days off from work and I enjoyed a lot this warm weather. Sabina wants to spend most of the time in the garden, and can't blame her, because everything is green and in bloom: in the raised beds (almost) everything is growing beautifully... the blackberries have continued to sprout and getting color and the mango trees have small fruits already... in our coop, started to born cute little chicks last week , so being outside lying on the grass or resting in the hammock is irresistible ..

little visitors

Hace unas semanas y a manera de festejo por la llegada de la primavera, tuvimos en casa una reunión con amigos. Sabina estuvo feliz, conociendo y reconociendo rostros, conviviendo con otros niños, caminando de un lado a otro, jugando, comiendo... hubo abundante comida, bebidas, música y los pequeños tuvieron algunas actividades y al final creo que todos la pasamos bien. Fue la primera vez que organizo algo en donde los niños están involucrados y me encantó la idea de tener constantemente pequeños visitantes en casa. Espero vuelvan pronto.

A few weeks ago, and as a celebration for the arrival of spring, we had a meeting at home with friends. Sabina was really happy, knowing and recognizing people, socializing with other children, walking from one place to other, playing, eating ... there was plenty food, beberages, music and we had some activities for the kids and at the end I think everyone had a good time. It was the first time we organize something where children are involved and I loved the idea of ​​constantly having little visitors at home. I hope they return soon.

nuestro huerto ha sido más que generoso este año, pues hemos recolectado lechugas, cilantro, perejil, calabacitas, acelgas, espinacas, kale, nopales, ejotes... las papillas de  Sabina las hemos preparado con nuestra cosecha, lo que nos pone a Alex y a mi muy contentos... Estamos a la espera de los tomates, cebollas, poro, zanahorias.

También hemos disfrutado de zarzamoras y de los higos que nuestros pequeños árboles nos han dado este año... que han estado muy solicitados por todos quienes vienen a casa ;) 

Las primeras lluvias de la temporada ya han comenzado, lo que el campo y nosotros agradecemos porque hemos tenido unas noches frescas...

El grandote de la foto es Lupe, nuestro gallo cantador... también tenemos tres gallinas jóvenes y 8 pollitos. Las gallinas comenzaron hace poco a poner huevos y a los pollitos cada vez se les ve más creciditos. Tener un gallinero ha sido toda una experiencia para nosotros, pues nunca habíamos tenido uno y aunque hemos cometido algunas torpezas, nos ha hecho aprender y apreciar a estos animales y los huevos que nos regalan.

We have also enjoyed blackberries and figs from our small trees ... they have been in great demand by all who come home 

The first rains of the season have already begun, so the field and we are grateful because we had some cool nights ... wich is sooo great with the hot weather here!

The big one in the photo is Lupe, our singer rooster... also we have three young hens and eight chickens. The girls recently started laying eggs and is amazing see the chickens growing. Having a chicken coop has been a great experience for us because we had never had one and although we have made some mistakes, that made ​​us learn and appreciate these animals and their eggs.

Un incendio comenzó ayer por la tarde en el bosque cerca de nuestra casa. Más de 24 horas y un montón de bomberos, brigadistas, voluntarios, vecinos y amigos no han parado de trabajar tratando de controlar el fuego. El viento no ha ayudado.... Alex está con ellos... Sabina los perros y yo estamos en casa, sin riesgo, sólo protegiéndonos del humo y esperando que Alex vuelva pronto y con la buena noticia de que todo está, por fin, bajo control...

A fire started yesterday afternoon in the woods close to our home. More than 24 hours and a lot of firefighters, rescuers, volunteers, neighbors and friends haven't stopped working trying to keep in control the fire. The wind didn't help .... and Alex is with them.... Sabina, the dogs and I are at home, without risk, keeping away from the smoke and waiting Alex back soon with the good news that everything is finally under control....

definitivamente no ha sido un buen domingo, pero espero que el de ustedes haya sido lo contrario! definitely it wasn't a good sunday, but I hope yours was just the opposite!
