Nuestro adorado Gumaro dejó este mundo ayer. Apenas cumplió nueve años este verano. 

En sólo un par de semanas vimos cómo la calidad de su vida fue disminuyendo rápidamente. Los médicos no pudieron hacer mucho por él, porque no supieron cuál fue la causa de sus padecimientos, así que tuvimos que tomar la difícil y dolorosa decisión de dejarlo ir...

Our loved Gumaro left this world yesterday. He was only nine years old this summer. In just few weeks we saw how the quality of his life was rapidly declining. The doctors couldn't do so much for him because they didnt know what's the cause of his condition, so we had to make the difficult and painful decision to let him go..

Decirle adiós fue muy duro. Él fue mi primer perro... y lo extraño tanto ...!

Saying goodbye to him was very hard. He was my first dog... and I miss him so much...!

es el fin de semana más triste ... nuestra casa no es la misma sin él, tenemos el corazón roto... what a sad sad weekend...  our home isn't the same without him... we have a broken heart...

He estado disfrutando los últimos días del año y de mis vacaciones en casa, con Alex y nuestros chuchos, haciendo lo que nos gusta, algunos días paseando un poco, comiendo, cosiendo, planeando nuevos proyectos... parece que el nuevo año ya está aquí, espero que sea uno bueno para todos...

I've been enjoying the last days of the year in home with Alex and our pals, doing just what we want and what we like, some days having short trips to the city, eating, sewing, planning new proyects.... it seems the new year is here, just I hope it will be a good one for all!

he tenido días de mucho trabajo en la casa y en la oficina, así que estoy deseando que llegue pronto el fin de semana... pero quería pasar por aquí para decir hola y espero que todos estén disfrutando de un maravilloso final de verano..!     I've had very busy days at home and the office and I'm wishing the weekend starts soon... just i wanted to came here and say hi! hope you all are having a great late summer!

Saturday

Estamos teniendo un buen día en casa, con mucho calor que nos hace pasar tiempo en el jardín, con bebidas refrescantes y comidas ligeras... yo he estado ocupada en el jardín con mis macetas, limpiando, acomodando, plantando y replantando, y siempre con la compañía de alguno de mis chuchos, mientras que Alex está dedicado a la construcción de una cabañita en el jardín que será su próximo taller de carpintería...   We're having a great day at home with a lot of heat that makes us spend time in the garden, with cold drinks and snacks... I have been busy in the garden with my pots, cleaning, arranging, planting and replanting, and always in the company of some of my buddies, while Alex is dedicated to building a little cabin in the garden will be his next workshop carpentry...

También tenemos planes para mañana, pues tendremos la visita de mi prima Marcela quien viene con su esposo y su bebé y haremos una comida en mi casa con la mayoría de la familia que vive en Guadalajara. Tengo ganas de verla y conocer a su pequeño, así que es muy emocionante para mí su llegada!     We also have plans for tomorrow, because we'll have the  visit of my cousin Marcela (my very most favorite cousing) who came with her ​​husband and baby, so we'll have a meal in my house with the most of the family who live in Guadalajara. I want to see her and meet her little guy, so it is very exciting for me her arrival!

y justo ahora mientras estoy escribiendo están sonando a lo lejos truenos y parece que comienza a nublarse... Alex no quiere que llueva aún... yo tampoco quiero que se le moje lo que está haciendo pero estoy ansiosa porque la temporada de lluvias comience pronto!

and just while I'm writing I can ear thunders at the distance and the sky is turning cloudy here... Alex doesn't want to rains yet ... and I don't want all his work be wet too but I'm pretty excited because the rainy season starts soon!

Primavera

Finalmente la primavera está con nosotros y no nos queda más que disfrutarla...  flores por todos lagos y días más largos, me encanta cómo el sol entra a la casa y la ilumina...  como si nos invitara a salir al jardín...      Finally spring is with us and just we must enjoy it ... flowers everywhere and longer days, I love how the sun enters in to the house and the iluminate all there... as if it invite us to go out to the garden ...

ya hice el primer helado de canela de este año y aunque sigue siendo mi favorito tengo ganas de experimentar con nuevos sabores, he pensado en plátano y passiflora, aunque también los sabores clásicos siempre son bien recibidos... tienes alguna receta para compartir?     I made the first cinnamon ice cream of the year and even when it still is my favorite, I want to experiment with new flavors, so I'm thinking in banana and passionflower, but also classic flavors are always welcome too... any recipe suggestion?

ellos son Gumaro, Lucio y Lola....

bueno, ellos realmente no son animales, son familia... son una parte grande de mi vida y los amo! Gumaro y Lucio son lo más, son fantásticos y me siento mejor persona desde que están aquí con nosotros y creo que tenerlos ha sido de las mejores decisiones que Alex y yo hemos tomado y aunque antes no me consideraba una persona de gatos.. mmm, bueno, ya sabes, las cosas cambian y día a día la pequeña Lola va teniendo un lugar cada vez más grande en mi corazón...

Well, they really are not animals, they are family to me... they are a huge part of my life and i love them! Gumaro and Lucio are sooooo wonderful and I'm feeling a better person since they are here with us, and have them has been one of the best decition then Alex and I have done... and even when before I don't consider myself as a cat person... mmm, well, you know, things changes and every day the little Lola is taking a bigger place in my heart...

sunday (lazy) morning...

esta es la vista que tengo desde mi cocina, donde está mi taza de café. Anoche Alex y yo llegamos a casa después de las 3 am... primero estuvimos en un magnífico concierto de Diana Krall... ahhh cómo me encanta su voz! y luego estuvimos en la fiesta de cumpleaños que mis hermanos dieron en la azotea del departamento de Verónica, en el centro de la ciudad... fue divertido... aunque debo confesar que ya no estoy acostumbrada a desvelarme, así que necesito más café por ahora... this is the view i have from my kitchen, where my cup of coffee is. Last night Alex and I came home after 3 am... first we were in a fantastic Diana Krall concert... ohh how i love her voice! after that, we went to my sister and brother birthday party at the roof of Verónica's apartment, at down town... it was fun... although I must confess that is hard to me staying up late, so I need more coffee now...

//la parte graciosa para mí de este corner view es que ahora mismo un carpintero está trabajando en lo que será nuestra nueva puerta de la casa... se supone que será muy linda y este tema hubiese sido perfecto para mostrarla :) the funny part to me in this coner view is that a carpenter now is working on what will be our new front door... it supposed it will be beautiful and this day would have be perfect to show it //

Aunque Gumaro estuvo muy celoso y gruñón cuando Lucio llegó a la casa, tampoco le gustaba prestar sus juguetes ni quería jugar con él, siempre compartió su lugar especial con ese pequeño: su cama. Although Gumaro was very jealous and grumpy when Lucio came to the house, and don't like give his toys or play with him, he always shared his special place with that little one: the bed.

una pequeña cortina que adapté ayer para la tarja de la terraza, mi mamá la hizo hace 7 años para el departamento donde Alex y yo vivíamos, es de manta y aunque tenía ya algunos agujeros pequeños, la reutilicé y le añadí el rickrack café para renovarla...
yesterday I modified these small curtain for the sink of the terrace, my mom made it 7 year ago for the apartment when Alex and me lived, is made of manta (mexican cotton) and although it had already some small holes i added the coffee rickrack to renew it...

something new and something old

Esto hice esta tarde: las camas de mis perros. Usé dos fundas de duvet para cuna que había comprado en Zara Home en las baratas de enero, pensando en hacer unos cojines o sólo aprovechar la tela. Me costaron sólo $79 pesos cada una! y bueno, sólo tuve que cortar un poco y coser un poco y estuvieron listas!
eso fue lo nuevo...
This is what Imade this afternoon: my dogs beds. I used two duvet covers crib then i bought on sale at Zara Home last january, looking to make pillows or just use the fabrics. They cost me only $79 pesos each (like $6 US)! and well, i just have to cut and sew a little and they're ready!

y lo viejo... bueno, pues para el relleno de las camas, usé el mismo cojín que tenían antes, pero como ya estaba algo usado no parecía cojín, sino más bien una tortilla... así que tenía que rellenarlo un poco más para que verdaderamente pareciera y se sintiera como un buen cojín para dormir y lo que hice fue usar tooooda mi pedacera de telas y batting que había guardado por meses. No son retazos, sino pequeñas partes casi imposibles de coser, junto con pequeños pedazos de batting, los hilos que se desechan y hasta las toallitas usadas de la secadora! todo eso me ahorró un poco de dinero y lo usé para rellenar las nuevas camas de Lucio y Gumaro. Eso fue reutilizar!

and the old... well, to fill the beds, i used the same cushion they had before, but since they was very used not seems like cushion, but rather an tortilla ... so i had to fill a bit more to truly looks and feel like a good cushion to sleep and what i did was use all my little tiny pieced of fabric and batting that i was kept for months. There are not scraps of fabric, only very small pieces almost impossible to sew together and a few small pieces of batting, threads that are discarded and used wipes up the dryer! all that saved me a little money and i used all to fill the Gumaro and Lucio's new beds. that was reuse! y aún tengo un poco de tela que sobró... and i still have some leftover fabric...
