the weekend here

Septiembre ha llegado aquí con días nublados, y aunque todo aún luce verde y con flores, el aire y las noches se sienten ya más frescas. También comenzó a temporada de elotes y la estamos disfrutando así como otras delicias que han llegado a casa gracias un vecino que ha compartido su cosecha con nosotros...  September has arrived with cloudy days here, and although everything still looks green and and there is still many flowers, the wind  and the nights start to feel cooler. He also started the corn season and we are enjoying them as  other delights that we have in home thanks to a very cool  neighbor who has shared his harvest with us...

Nuestro fin de semana en casa ha estado tranquilo, Alex ha trabajado en su taller de carpintería y yo, entre la cocina y  mi cuarto de costura... y como siempre, con algo de música...  Our weekend has been quiet at home, Alex has worked in his woodworking shop and I, between the kitchen and my sewing room... and as usual, with some music...

aunque mis dos semanas de vacaciones ya comenzaron, no estoy (sólo) rascándome el ombligo, para mí, parte de mi descanso consiste en trabajar en mi cuarto de costura, sin presiones y con todo el tiempo sólo para eso, así que además de hacer unos pedidos de bolsas que tengo, estoy  terminando un quilt pendiente y comenzando otro, bastante sencillo y usando las telas de dos lindos charm packs... espero mostrarles algún adelanto pronto!

my two weeks of vacation began already and I'm not (only) scratching my belly button, for me, part of my break is be at my sewing room, without pressure and with all the time for me, just for that, so in addition to a few orders that I have, I'm finishing a quilt and starting another one, very simple and using two cutes charm packs...  I hope can show you some progress soon!

...y por lo pronto, estoy soñando con días en la playita... feliz semana!!

...and for now, I'm dreaming with days at the beach.... happy week for all!

the weekend

Finalmente hice una bolsa para mí. Había estado haciendo bolsas para la tienda, para regalos pero no para mí, hasta ayer. Elegí una tela de la colección  de Melody Miller, que es una  mezcla de lino y algodón, y usé mezclilla oscura para el forro y las agarraderas. Y me encanta cómo quedó!  ...así que decidí ponerla en mi tienda disponible por encargo ;)

Finally I made a bag for myself. I've been making bags for the shop, for gifts but not for me, until yesterday. I choosed the gorgeous Melody Miller's fabric, wich is linen and cotton blend and I used a very dark denim for the linen and the handles. And I love it! so I decided listed it at my shop as made to order ;)

el fin de semana ha transcurrido con nubes por todos lados... y aunque aproveché una pausa de la lluvia para cortar un poco de lavanda y pasar tiempo en el jardín,  tuvimos que volver a la casa pronto, pues de nuevo llegó el agua... así que ahora mis perros y yo estamos disfrutando de un poco de música y entre el trabajo en el cuarto de costura y un pan de plátano horneándose, el domingo parece irse pronto...  

the weekend has passed with lots of clouds... and although while the rain was taking a break I cut some lavender and spend time in the garden, we had to return to the home soon, because the rain came again... so my dogs and I are enjoying some music now and from the work in the sewing room to the kitchen to bake a banana bread, Sunday seems like will be over soon...

saturday calm

qué sería de los sábados sin un poco de costura, bebida preparadas en casa, música, clima agradable y buena compañía? nada bueno de seguro, al menos para mí...

what would be of the Saturdays without a little sewing, homemade drinks, music, nice weather and good company? nothing good for sure, at least for me...

así que hoy estoy de suerte al poder pasar el sábado así...  So I'm so lucky to spend the day in that way :)

algunos de ustedes me escribieron preguntándome qué es lo que estaba haciendo con aquélla linda tela de higos... bueno, pues como pueden ver hice dos mini quilts o tapetes para la taza (y para las galletas también!)... mi mamá se quedó con uno y el otro lo decidí poner en mi tienda.       some of you wrote asking me what I was doing with that beautiful Figs fabric... well as you can see I made two mini quilts or mug rugs (and for cookies too!)... my mom kept one and the other I decided to put it in my shop.

Ha sido una semana de calma. Lejos de todo y sin mucha navidad por aquí, sólo lo que alcance a llegar de las luces de los vecinos. No hay tumultos, ni papel para envolver regalos ni caos, sólo una vaca pasó por mi calle hoy, a veces no se cómo ni de dónde, pero logran escabullirse de entre alguna cerca... y no estaba cantanto villancicos.

los planes para hoy? seguir igual, manteniendo el caos lejos de casa.

It's been a calm week. Far from everything and not much Christmas around here, only what we can get from the neighbor's lights. No crowds, wrapping paper or chaos here, only one cow pass by my street today, I don't know how or where, but sometimes they manage to sneak in between a fence ... and she wasn't singing carols.

the plans for today? do the same, keeping the chaos outside and away from here.

1. Hacer yogurt y comerlo con miel. Hecho.    Make yogurth and eat it with honey. Done.

2. Hacer jugo de mandarina. Hecho.      Make fresh tangerine juice. Done.

3. Ir al vivero por un árbol.      Go to the nursery to get a tree.

4. Organizar papeles. En proceso.     Organize my papers. In proccess.

5. Transplantar unas pequeñas suculentas. Hecho.     Transplanting succulents. Done.

6. Terminar el top de un quilt. Hecho.     Finish a quilt top. Done.

7. Comenzar otro. Hecho     Start another one. Done.

8. Ver a un querido amigo.    See a very dear friend.

9. Estar apartada del tráfico navideño. Hecho. Keep away from the christmas traffic. Done.

10. Dar una caminata. Una en la tarde. Have a walk. One last night

11. Probar una nueva receta de galletas. Buscando.  Try a new cookie recipe. Looking for it.

12. Hacer una sopa de tomate. En proceso. Make tomatoe soup. In process. 

13. Poner música que tenía mucho sin oír. Hecho. Listen music that I had too much time without enjoy. Done.

14. Organizar mis telas. En proceso. Organized my fabric stash. In process.

15. Reír y dormir bien. Hecho! Laugh and sleeping good. Done!

on vacation mode

...en casa, sin prisas, haciendo lo que quiero y cuando quiero... estos días de vacaciones estaremos aquí, tomándonos tiempo para nosotros, pero siempre con música...

...at home, without hurry, making what I want and when I want it... these days off we will be here, just taking time for us, but always with music...

...are you having a great saturday? I do. The dogs and I woke up early and while Alex and Lola still were sleeping, I started to enjoy my day with a good black coffee. I'm working now at my sewing room, you know a little of this and a little of that... and I'm listening this...
