Iniciando el año comencé con este proyecto en Flickr... un grupo llamado I'm looking down (estoy mirando hacia abajo), en donde la idea es simplemente agregar fotos que se han tomado viendo hacia abajo... quieres unirte? todos son bienvenidos!

at the beggining of this year  I started this project on Flickr ... a group called I'm looking down, where the idea is simply to add pictures that have been taken looking down ... want to join? all of you are welcome!

Lately

los días han pasado con calma entre desayunos tarde, sorbos de descafeinado (que no es mi favorito), sesiones de costura, siestas y visitas a la ciudad para arreglar pendientes...

También hace unos cuantos días recibí unos hermosos prints de la pintora Marisa Redondo, (ya los tengo enmarcados y están a la espera de que les encuentre su sitio en las paredes de la casa), el trabajo de Marisa es verdaderamente exquisito y si no conocen su tienda River Luna, les recomiendo que se den una vuelta, está llena de cosas hermosas!

these days have been passed quietly between late breakfast, lots of decaf (that isn't my favorite), sewing sessions, naps and short visits to the city...
Also a few days ago I received some prints from artist Marisa Redondo, (they are already framed and waiting for their place on my walls), Marisa's work is truly exquisite and if you don't know her shop River Luna, I really recommend that you go there, it's full of beautiful stuff!

growing green

Este es nuestro huerto de este año.... durante el invierno Alex cambió las camas de siembra que eran de madera y que ya estaban algo afectadas por la humedad y en su lugar puso unas lozas de cemento...por alguna razón Alex y yo aún no le tomamos bien el tiempo y esta vez sentimos que sembramos un poco tarde y también que las semillas tardaban en germinar... pero de pronto las lechugas, acelgas, cilantro y las calabacitas comenzaron a crecer y crecer... no hemos dejado de cosechar desde hace 3 semanas y parece que los jitomates y ejotes pronto aparecerán también por aquí... 

This is our garden this year .... last winter Alex changed the raised beds that were of wood and were really affected by the all the wetness and instead he put some concrete slabs ... for some reason Alex and I still do not take good time and this season we planted a little late and  we were thinking that the seeds were very slow to germinate ....  but then the lettuce, chard, cilantro and zucchini start to grow and grow... since 3 weeks ago we have a continued  harvest and it seems that the tomatoes and green beans will also appear here soon ...

aprecio mucho tener un espacio para sembrar vegetales o hierbas, pero la mayoría de ellos también pueden crecer en macetas... nada como comer fresco y natural!

I really appreciate having a space for growing our own vegetables and herbs, but I think most of them can also grow in pots... nothing like eat fresh and organic veggies!

The weekend outside

Disfrutamos de un delicioso fin de semana lleno de lluvias que iban y venían, a veces fuerte y otras sólo llegaban como una ligera brisa. La gente del campo dice que las lluvias de principio de año son señal de que en su momento, la temporada será abundante. No se si eso sea cierto, ya les contaré, pero por lo pronto me gusta pensar que así será y que no tendremos sequía...

We enjoyed a delicious weekend full of rain that at moments came heavy and sometimes just as a light breeze. The local farmers say that the rains earlier are a sign that the this year's rainy season will be plentiful. I don't know if that is true, but for now I like to think it will be like that and we won't have dry fields...

gracias por no dejar de venir y saludar, fue otra semana de mucho trabajo en mi oficina y tuvimos una gran mudanza a otro edificio.... espero que las cosas se normalicen por aquí pronto!   thanks so much for still coming here and say hi. It was another hard week at my job and also we have a big office move... but hope the things turns normal here soon!

the weekend outside

cada día el clima se pone más cálido aquí y desde enero, las camas de siembra de nuestro huerto están habilitándose, así que pronto estarán listas y a la espera de las semillas para este año... estoy muy emocionada, pues creo que el año pasado no aprovechamos muy bien el huerto y no queremos que eso nos suceda esta vez, así que trabajaremos para tener una buena cosecha... every day the weather gets warmer here and since January, we are working on our raised beds, so I think they will be ready for the seeds very soon... I'm happyabout it, because  last year we didnt work so much in our garden, so we don't want that happen again, so we'll work to have a good harvest ...

por lo pronto ya están creciendo las lavandas, los higos y los mangos comienzan a florear... Alex ha estado encontrando esos carretes de madera que pronto entrarán a su taller... at the moment we havelavender and figs growing very fast and our mango trees begin to bloom... also Alex has been finding these wooden spools that they will be in his wood workshop soon...

Sunday at home

me levanté temprano, pero después del café volví a meterme a la cama... cuando desperté y Alex no estaba, fue al mercado, llenó el refrigerador y trajo flores para mí...  y yo lo amo!

I woke up early today but after my daily coffee morning I went back to the bed... when I woke again Alex wasn't there... he had gone to the market, filled the refrigerator and also brought those beatiful flowers for me... and I love him!  

espero que estén teniendo un buen domingo. Hoy es un día de calma para nosotros, después de una semana de mucho trabajo... hope you are having a great sunday. Today its a calm day for us after a very busy week...

Iniciando el año decidí abrir un grupo en Flickr llamado I'm looking down, cuál es la idea? bueno creo que es bastante simple, tomar tu cámara, mirar hacia abajo y disparar. Estoy seguro que habrá un montón de descubrimientos hermosos e interesantes...

Starting the year I decided to open a Flickr group called I'm looking down. What is the idea?  it's pretty simple: take your camera, look down and shoot. I'm sure we'll find a lot of interesting and beautiful discoveries...
