a summer scarf

Hace unos días hice esta bufanda de lino, con un poco de patchwork con tejidos de algodón. No se por qué no había pensado antes en hacer una así. Es algo sencillo de hacer, que si eliges unas telas lindas lucirá perfecta para usarse en las noches frescas de verano y del otoño que está por llegar. Fue un regalo que hice para alguien especial.

A few days ago i made this linen scarf, with a bit of patchwork of cotton wovens. I don't know why I don't think about make one before. Is something very simple to do and if you choose nice fabrics it must be looks perfect to wear in fresh summer nights and fall afternoons. This was a gift that i made for somebody special.

Mis vacaciones terminaron y vuelvo hoy a la oficina. No es como cuando era niña y ante las largas vacaciones en verano llegaba un momento en que ya quería regresar a la escuela. No, no es así. Pero después de todo, los días pesados en el trabajo hacen que mis fines de semana y mis vacaciones sean tengan sabor dulce y las difrute más. Estoy agradecida por eso y por los días de quincena también! My vacations days is over and today I'm return to the office. It's not like as a child and at the long summer vacation came a time when I wanted to return to school. No, it is not like that. But after all, the heavy days at work makes my weekends and my holidays have a sweet taste and I enjoy them more. I'm grateful for that and also for the pay days too!

Otro viernes más. El último de julio y mi último viernes de vacaciones. He pasado buen tiempo en casa, a veces queriendo poder empezar y completar proyectos que tengo en mente, pero he disfrutado estar aquí, haciendo lo que quiero y a final de cuentas, sin prisas.
Another Friday is here. Is the last one of July and my last friday of my summer vacations. I spent great time at home, sometimes wanting to start and complete more projects that I have in mind, but I enjoyed being here, doing what I want and at the end, without hurry.

Hace unos días comencé a hacer unos bosquejos a los que terminé poniéndole color. Ya corté las telas y comencé a coser, como pueden ver, no soy buena dibujando, pero se trata de hacer unas cruces en quilt.... hace tiempo que quería hacer algo así y me estoy disfrutando el proceso... y tengo este día aún libre!

A few days ago I started doing some sketches that I finished it putting color. I cuted fabrics and started sewing already and as you can see, I'm not a good drawer, but it is about to make crosses in a quilt... long time ago that I wanted to do something like that, and I'm enjoying the process... and still I have this day off!

Hemos tenido algunos asados en casa. Algunos de día y otros nocturnos, mis favoritos. Algunos con familia, otros con amigos, pero siempre con buena compañía, sólo se necesita agregar buena música y listo!

We had some carne asadas (barbecue) at home. Some was at day and others was at night, my favorites. Some of those with the family and other with friends, but always with good company, you just need put great music and it's done!

Estoy trabajando en varios proyectos que espero pronto mostrar, pero el más especial es un quilt que estoy haciendo con estos tejidos y un diseño de este estupendo libro. Un poco cada día y pronto estará terminado!

I'm working in some proyects that I hope can show you soon, but the most special to me is a quilt that i'm doing with those wovens and a desing from this fantastic book. Sewing a little every day and it will be finished soon!

Santo Santiago

Como muchas de las celebraciones en México, esta también fue para festejar al santo del pueblo. Toda la gente en la calle, mucha comida, música, bebidas. Fue un maravilloso domingo nublado...

As many festivities in Mexico, this was to celebrate the saint of the town too. All the people on the streets, a lot of food, music, drinks. That was a wonderful cloudy sunday....

not patchwork this time

he estado trabajando con estos tejidos y aunque al principio no sabía muy bien cómo utilizarlas, porque me detenía ese temor tonto de no hacerlo bien y hechar a perder las telas, terminé haciendo unos cojines para mi sala y me encantan. Como las telas son tan lindas sólo acolché la parte frontal de los cojines a cuadros y decidí que todos cerraran de la parte de atrás como sobre. Simples pero hermosos. Creo que haré un par más para ponerlos a la venta en mi tienda. Tal vez haya alguien además de mí que tambien le gusten los colores neutros.

I've been working with those wovens and at the beggining I don't knew how use them, because that stupid fear to don't do it good stopped me and I don't wanted to waste fabric, but finally I finished some pillows for my living room and I love them! Those wovens are fantastic so only was quilted the top of the plaids ones and I did an envelope clousure for all of them. Simple and beautiful. I think I'll make a few more to put on sale at my shop. Maybe there is somebody besides me that also likes neutral colors too.

just calm...

Sólo calma. Así se sienten mis vacaciones en casa. Durante el día el sol aparece y desaparece y por las tardes, lluvia refrescándonos. No hay prisas ni una hora para dormir o levantarnos. No hay aburrimiento ni comidas con prisa. Música, incienso, buena compañía y buena charla. Es bueno estar en casa!

That is what i feel my vacations at home. The sun appear and disappear during the day, and at the afternoons, we have refreshing rain. Not hurries, not have an hour to sleep or to wake up. No boring or hurry meals. Music, incense, good companion and great talk. Is good to be at home!
