I've never broken a bone, but when i was little i went out of a moving car...

soy buena administradora y cocinera, me gusta la nieve (muchísimo), viajar y dormir una buena siesta.... i'm manage my finances well, i'm a good cook, i like ice crem (a lot!), travel and sleep a good nap ....

y trato de siempre agradecer la vida que tengo!!! and i'm very grateful for the life i have !!!

some news

Desde ayer hay dos máquinas de coser en mi casa... y es que ayer estuvieron aquí mi mamá y Verónica! la pasamos super bien, cosiendo, platicando, riendo, escuchando música y como siempre la tarde fue demasiado corta!

Since yesterday there are two sewing machines in my house ... and is that becose my mom and Verónica were here yesterday! we spent good time together, sewing, chatting, laughing, listening music and as always the evening was too short!

mi hermana es pintora y está iniciando una serie de diseños para bordar.... he estado viendo algo de ese proceso y sólo puedo decir que sus dibujos son muuuy lindos, verdaderamente dan ganas de bordarlos... ya les comentaré cómo va eso ... aquí les muestro una probadita:

my sister is an artist and she's initiating a series of designs for embroidery .... I've been watching some of that process and i can only say that her drawings are sooo cute, really makes you want to stitch them ... I'll tell you how that goes ... here I show a little bit of that work:

Mi amiga Rosário y yo hicimos un intercambio intercontinental de telas y ayer recibí mi paquete con muchas telas fantásticas! las telas en color rosa son muuuy lindas, muy femeninas, también me gustaron mucho los algodones portugueses y por supuesto, la chita (amarilla), que es una tela típica de Portugal...

My friend Rosário and i made an intercontinental fabric swap and yesterday i received my package with many great fabrics! the pinks are sooo cute, very feminine, i also really liked the cotton portuguese and of course, the chita (the yellow one), which is a typical fabric of Portugal...

por si eso fuera poco, Rosário me mandó de regalo esta belleza de listón.... no es adorable? As if that were not enough, Rosário sent me for a gift this beautiful ribbon .... don't you think this is adorable?

Victoria de blog Bumblebeans siempre está trabajando en algo... y hace unos días pidió en su blog a un montón de quilters su cooperación para unirse a este proyecto, pues la diseñadora Jennifer Paganelli le donó unas telas de su colección Sis Boom y la idea es hacer 2 bloques y devolvérselos a Victoria para que ella pueda unirlas en un quilt que será destinado a la caridad.

Victoria from the bumblebeans blog is always doing something... few days ago she's asked a bunch of blog quilters to join her, as the designer Jennifer Paganelli donated fabric from her collection Sis Boom and the idea is to make 2 blocks and returning to Victoria back so that she can assemble them into a charity quilt.

y yo no pude resistir la tentación y ahora estoy dentro! and i could not resist and now i'm in!

olvidé decir que ella nos mandará las telas que nosotros usaremos? será chidísimo trabajar con telas que aún no conozco!! I forgot to say that she will send us the fabrics that we use? will be very cool to work with fabrics that i don't know yet!

Estoy muy emocionada con esto y al mismo tiempo un poco nerviosa porque, ya sabes, cuando estás cosiendo y te equivocas y ese error queda en casa no hay problema (sólo tu lo sabes), pero esta vez, los errores los podrán ver otras personas...

I'm very excited about this and at the same time a little nervous because, you know, when you are sewing and you make a mistake and that mistake is at home no problem (only you know it), but this time, other people can see the mistakes...

por lo pronto estoy pensando en lo que yo haré con mis 2 bloques... for now i'm thinking about what i'll do with my 2 blocks ...

Friday afternoon

Ayer estuvo mi hermana en mi casa. Pasamos una tarde agradable, ella dibujó un diseño para bordar en una camineta y nos pusimos a bordar... la tarde se pasa rápido cuando haces algo que te gusta y más si estás en buena compañía...

Yesterday, my sister was here. We spend a great afternoon, she draw a embroidery desing for a t-shirt and we started to embroidery... the afternoon passes quickly when you are doing something you like and specially if you're in good company ...

Hace semanas que comencé a trabajar en este quilt. El diseño lo tuve en mi cabeza y hace unos días creí que ya había terminado la parte superior, pero cuando lo puse sobre mi cama, me di cuenta que tenía que hacer algunos cambios... creo que tengo que usar esas hojas cuadriculadas para hacer ahí los diseños que se me ocurran y evitar aunque sea un poco, los errores...
weeks ago i started working on this quilt. The design i had in my head and a few days ago i thought it was over, but when i put it on my bed, i know to i need to make some changes ... so I've been thinking that i need to use graph paper to make there the quilts designs that i want and avoid even a little, the mistakes ...

y por fin los tengo!!!! estos libros aunque no son recién publicados, son nuevos para mí. Hace tiempo quería comprarlos y hace un par de semanas por fin llegaron a mis manos. Tienen unos proyectos chidísimos que me gustaría mucho hacer. Son en inglés y aunque no están muy ilustrados, espero lograr entender todas las instrucciones. and finally i have them!!! those books are old but they are new to me. some time ago i wanted to buy them and a couple of weeks ago, finally they came into my hands. There have some amazing projects that i would like to do. all are in english and do not have many illustrations, but i hope to understand all instructions.

A veces pienso si es necesario tener todos estos libros increibles que se publican. Tengo algunos de ellos y con algunos he sentido un poco de culpa por gastar y no hacer alguno de los proyectos que contienen... que creo que para que la compra valga la pena tengo que hacer al menos 1 proyecto de cada libro...así que tengo mucho por hacer ... sobre todo vienen en camino unos cuantos libros más... Sometimes i wonder if it is necessary to have all these amazing books that are published. I have some and with some of them i felt a little guilty for spending and not doing any of the projects that contain ... i think to make the purchase worthwhile i have to make at least 1 project for each book ... so i have much to do ... especially because come in way a few books more ...

Oaxaca en Guadalajara

Ayer fuimos al centro de la ciudad y visitamos una feria de Oaxaca. Escuchamos música, vimos mucha artesanía, comimos los platillos típicos y probamos unas nieves de garrafa deliciosas!!

Yesterday, we went to downtown and visited an exhibition from Oaxaca. We heard music, look a lot of art hand made crafts, we ate the typical food and tasted some delicius hand made ice cream!!

a quilt to sit on it..

Este fin de semana usé estas hermosas telas... This weekend i used this beautiful fabrics...
Corté tiras desde 1 1/2" hasta 3 1/2"... estuve cosiendo un poco, usando retazos de batting... haciendo quilting y sin usar bies... i was cuting 1 1/2" to 3 1/2" strips... sewing a little, using scraps of batting... quilting and without using bias...
