the week

Las buganvilias aquí siguen en flor así que no desaproveché la oportunidad de alegrar de una forma barata, nuestra habitación. Esta semana experimenté una nueva receta usando calabaza, el pan quedó buenísimo, así que pronto la compartiré. Camila se recupera muy rápido y cada día se le ve más adaptada a su nuevo hogar y nosotros cada día la queremos más!

Casi no pude pasar tiempo en mi cuarto de costura estos días, pero al menos ya terminé el top de este quilt y sólo espera a ser acolchado...

La palabra LOVE de madera, la adquirí de esta tienda y algunos de los frascos azules en esta otra tienda, el cartero por fin las trajo esta semana... si visitan ambas tiendas se darán cuenta de que Alison y Ashley tienen cosas super lindas y que ellas son muy amables!

The buganvilias still are flowering here and I just took the opportunity to garnish

our bedroom without spend money. This week I tried a new recipe using pumpkin (or squash?), it was so good, so I'll share it soon. Camila is recovering very fast and every day she looks more adapted to her new home... and every day we love her more and more!

I almost could spend time in my sewing room last days, but at least I finished this quilt top and is just waiting to be quilted...

The wood LOVE word, I get it from this shop and some of those lovely vintage blue jars in this other shop, and the postman finally brought them to me this week ... if you visit both shops you'll see that Alison and Ashley have a lot of beautiful things there and both are such kind ladies!

estoy probando nuevos patrones de bolsas... esta la terminé ayer, el diseño es de Rae y verdaderamente luce hermosa, tal vez la foto no le hace verdadera justicia...

sin embargo aún necesito seguir trabajando para perfeccionar algunos detalles de su construcción y estoy pensando en tener algunas a la venta en mi tienda, crees que sea buena idea?

I'm trying out new patterns of bags ... I finished this yesterday, the design is by Rae and truly looks gorgeous, maybe the photo isn't fair...

but I still need to keep working on that pattern to improve some details of its construction and I was thinking make some of those for put on sale in my shop, do you think it could be a good idea?...

...estás pasando un buen día? yo sí. Los perros y yo nos levantamos temprano y mientras Alex y Lola seguían dormidos, comanzamos a disfrutar del día con un buen café negro. Ahora estoy trabajando en mi cuarto de costura, ya sabes, un poco esto y un poco aquéllo... y escuchando esto...

...are you having a great saturday? I do. The dogs and I woke up early and while Alex and Lola still were sleeping, I started to enjoy my day with a good black coffee. I'm working now at my sewing room, you know a little of this and a little of that... and I'm listening this...

corner view: autumn

El otoño en esta parte de México no es parecido a lo que vemos en internet en lugares en donde los árboles parecen tener unas transformaciones esplendorosas y un colorido espectacular...

El otoño aquí es callado, con un viento maravilloso y atardeceres con una luz hermosa, pero la transición en los colores de los árboles es muy lenta, algunos comienzan a tirar sus hojas, otros ya las cambiaron de color y creo que la mayoría sigue verde...

Autumn in this part of Mexico is not like what we see on photos or Internet, you know, that places where the trees seem to have splendid colorful transformations...

We have a quiet autumn, with a wonderful winds and sunsets with a beautiful light, but the transition in the colors of the trees is very slow, some are beginning to drop its leaves, others are changing color and I think most still green...

Pero lo que sí comienza a cambiar aquí es el campo.

Además de estar rodeados de sembradíos de agave, también tenemos cerca muchos campos que año con año son sembrados de maiz. Sólo maiz. La cosecha comienza a principios de septiembre y para esta temporada puedes ver el trabajo de los campesinos, limpiando nuevamente sus campos... haciendo sus montones de rastrojo... pintados con la luz maravillosa de otoño..

But what it is changing here is the fields. It really shows what autumn is.

In addition to being surrounded by plantations of agave, we also have pretty close to many fields who are planted corn every year. Just corn. The harvest begins in early September and for this season you can see the work of the farmers, clearing their fields again... ... making piles of straw...painted with the beautiful light of autumn...
