esto es un poco de lo que hice este fin de semana... this is some what i did last weekend...

una nueva funda de cojín... con un poco de applique (sólo el sol) y free motion quilting... para seguir practicándolo... a new pillow cover with a little bit of apliqque (only the sun) and free motion quilting... to keep practice...

y también hice cuatro bloques de log cabin para un nuevo quilt que traigo en mente... para alguien especial... and algo i did four log cabin blocks for a new quilt i have in my mind... to someone special

el resto del tiempo estuvimos en el jardín, viendo películas y visitando a la familia...the rest of the time we was at garden, watching movies and visit the family...

my mistake!!!

Comencé un nuevo quilt hace unos días... todo iba bien hasta que me dí cuenta que mis matemáticas fueron muuy malas!!! cosí, corté y volví a coser y descubro que en lugar de los 16 blocks (20") que creí que tendría, sólo obtuve la mitad! lo puedes creer!?? de verdad que eso fue estúpido! I started a new quilt a few days ago ... everything was going well until I realized that my math was veery bad! i sewed, cuted and sewed again to discover that instead of the 16 blocks (20") that I thought should have, i got only half! can believe it!?? that was really stupid!

la parte más mala es que estoy trabajando con tela precortada (un honeybun de moda fabrics) y con una tela de lino y algodón que donde la compré me acaban de decir que ya no hay más! The very bad part is that I'm working with precut fabric (one modafabrics honeybun) and a mix of linen and cotton fabric, then in the shop where I bought it, they just told me there is no more!

las telas que estoy usando son fantásticas y creo que no todo está perdido... algo se me ocurrirá y lo arreglaré en este fin de semana... the fabrics i'm using are fantastic and I still think that all is not lost ... something happens and I'll fix it this weekend ...

ahora ya tenemos aquí mañanas y noches frías... nuestro jardín ya comienza a cambiar .... y el viento nos anuncia que viene más... now we have cold mornings and cold evenings here... our garden is starting to change .... and the wind has announced that more is comming...

el domingo tuvimos una velada super linda en casa por el día de muertos... lamento no compartir imágenes, pues olvidé por completo tomar alguna fotografía.... pero estuvo todo bien, amigos y familia, tuvimos tamales de elote y tamales veracruzanos, crepas de pollo y de vegetales, pan de muerto con chocolate caliente, música, gente platicando y riendo! me encanta cuando eso sucede en nuestra casa!! Last sunday we had a great evening at home for the day of the dead ... I'm sorry for not sharing pictures, because I completely forgot to take any pictures .... but it was all good, friends and family, we had corn tamales and tamales veracruzanos (veracruz style), chicken crepes and vegetables, pan de muerto and hot chocolate, music, people talking and laughing! I love when that happens in our home!

y muchas gracias a todas las personas que constantemente me preguntan cómo sigue mi tobillo. Yo me siento bien y hoy vuelvo a mi trabajo... estar en casa fue maravilloso (con la excepción del esguince, claro), y aunque me hubiera gustado tener más tiempo para terminar muchos proyectos que tengo aquí, creo que ya es tiempo de volver con ese otro trabajo que tengo y que también me gusta!

and thank you very much to all the people who constantly ask me how is my ankle. I feel good and today I return to my job ... it was wonderful to be at home (with the exception of the sprain, of course), and although I would have liked more time to complete many projects I have at home, I think it's time to get back to that other job I have and also I love it!

una pequeña cortina que adapté ayer para la tarja de la terraza, mi mamá la hizo hace 7 años para el departamento donde Alex y yo vivíamos, es de manta y aunque tenía ya algunos agujeros pequeños, la reutilicé y le añadí el rickrack café para renovarla...
yesterday I modified these small curtain for the sink of the terrace, my mom made it 7 year ago for the apartment when Alex and me lived, is made of manta (mexican cotton) and although it had already some small holes i added the coffee rickrack to renew it...
