Ha sido un domingo de levantarnos temprano. Está nublado y Alex se fue a escalar. Estoy en casa, en compañía de mis perros y Lola, tomando café, eligiendo música y dispuesta a pasar el resto del día en mi cuarto de costura...!

It was a sunday to wake up early. Is cloudy and Alex is gone to do rock climbing. I'm in home, with my dogs and Lola, drinking coffe, choosing music to play and ready to spend the rest of the day at mi sewing room...!

a summer quilt

El plan original era hacer un quilt como este, usando el patrón del libro "Material Obsession", pero los cuadros protagonistas son muy grandes (16.5 pulgadas) y como no tenía tela suficiente con estampados grandes, decidí hacer una modificación, pues no quería comprar más tela (bueno, realmente SÍ quiero, pero no debo!). Así que para usar lo que tengo en casa, decidí cortar cuadros de 10" y como se hace en los bloques de log cabin, sólo añadí tiras y así logré tener mis bloques de 16.5 pulgadas que el patrón requería.

The original plan was make a quilt like this one, using the pattern from the book "Material Obsession", but the central squares are so big (about 16.5 inchs) and I don't have to much fabric to make them, so i made a little change because i don't want buy more fabric (wait! I DO want, but I must don't do it...). So to use what I have in my stash I cut the squares from 10" and like to make log cabin blocks, I added some stripes and finally I had the 16.5" squares that I needed for this pattern.

a wet sunday...

fue una brillante idea de Alex y tuvimos un domingo en casa con familia, amigos, agua, sol y momentos divertidos! Alex had a brilliant idea and we had a great sunday at home with family, friends, water, sun and funny moments!!

El sábado pasado, Alex y yo fuimos con un amigo a comer a una granja de pescado. La comida fue muy buena y el lugar tenía palapas y rockola, como si estuvieras en la playa. Mi intención era mostrarles la vista que tenía desde ese lugar, pero las fotos fueron más que espantosas.

Así que sólo tengo para mostrar esta imagen de mi cuarto de costura, que es en donde he estado sentada en algunas tardes de esta semana, tratando de terminar esto y pensando en qué proyecto iniciar...

Last saturday, Alex and I went with a friend to have a meal at a fish farm. The food was really great and the place had palapas and jukebox, like you're on the beach. I wanted to show you the view I had from that place, but the photos were more than horrible. So I just have this image of my sewing room to show, which is where I've been sitting on some evenings of this week, trying to finish this and thinking about a new proyect to start...
