Hello y happy saturday!

esta semana el correo me trajo un montón de cariño y de cosas lindas que les quiero compartir... El mes pasado tuve un intercambio organizado por Anna... así que hice y le envié una bolsa, té y algunas cositas más a Carmen.... y esta semana recibí una linda y útil bolsa de red que Mary me envió junto con una deliciosa dotación de té y chocolates... gracias Mary, no he podido parar de comer esos ricos Ghirardelli!!

This week the mail brought me a lot of love and beautiful things that I want to share here ... Last month I participated in a swap organized by Anna... I sent to Carmen a handmade grocery bag, tea and some more things.... and this week I received a beautiful and useful net bag that Mary sent me along with delicious tea and chocolates ... Thanks so much Mary, I can't stop to eat those delicious Ghirardelli!

unos días después y de forma inesperada llegó un paquete lleno de cariño y con una linda pila de telas que Karen me envió, gracias amiga, fue una sorpresa super linda y esas telitas tendrán un buen uso! some days later and unexpectedly I got a package full of love and with a lovely pile of fabrics that Karen sent me! thanks a lot my friend, it was a beautiful surprise and those great fabrics will have a good use!

y finalmente otro intercambio...  recibí esos hermosos sellos que Rike me envió desde Alemania... me encantan!! si quieren ver más de sus diseños visiten su tienda que está llena de cosas lindas! ...Danke!

noviembre se me fue en una semana de mucho trabajo dentro y fuera de casa... tengo un nuevo juguete que necesito aprender a usar, pero mientras tanto y como siempre, mucho café y mis perros me acompañan en mis sesiones de costura... November has gone in a very busy week in and out of home ... I have a new toy that I need to learn to use, but meanwhile and as always,  lots of coffee and my dogs are my company  in my sewing sessions ...

esta semana estuvo fría y ayer bebí mi primer chocolate caliente de la temporada... apenas puedo creer que ya sea esta época del año otra vez! this week was cold and yesterday I drank my first hot chocolate ... I can hardly believe that is this time of year again!

worth the wait

Terminé este quilt hace un par de semanas. Creo que comencé a coser los bloques desde hace dos años y todo este tiempo estuvo esperando por mí o por la personita para la que finalmente será, ya que fue el regalo que le di a una amiga en su baby shower... esta vez usé algunas tiras precortadas de 1.5 " y tela en dolor sólido de lino/algodón.

Aunque me pone contenta terminar un proyecto, también me alegra haber esperado para hacerlo, pues terminó siendo un lindo quilt para una bebé, algo que no estaba en el plan original...

I finished this quilt a couple of weeks ago. I think I started to sew the blocks two years ago and all this time it was waiting for me or for the little one that it will be, as it was the gift I gave to a friend at her baby shower ... this time I used 1.5" precut strips and linen/cotton fabric (solids). 

I'm happy to finish a proyect but at the end I'm glad I waited to do it too, because it turned in a lovely quilt for a baby girl, and that wasn't in the original plan...

y parece que a Lucio también le gusta cómo luce... :)

and also it seems that Lucio likes how it looks too... :)

Les muestro un mini quilt o tapete para la taza que terminé hace unos días. Lo hice usando algunos de mis tejidos a rayas favoritos y una suave  mezclilla... es un pequeño regalo para una querida amiga, espero que le guste... This is a mini quilt or mug rug that I finished just few days ago. I made it using some of my favorite stripe wovens and a soft denim... its a little gift for a lovely friend, hope she likes it...

y hablando de regalos... mil gracias por todos los comentarios en el post del sorteo!! Realmente disfruté leer lo que les gusta regalar en las fiestas y me encantó que también les gusta regalar cosas hechas a mano o vintage. Les cuento que desde hace unos años Alex y yo no damos regalos de navidad, simplemente decidimos no dejarnos llevar por el hábito compulsivo del consumo, pero hacia fin de año sí me gusta dar un pequeño detalle a algunas personas que estuvieron cerca de nosotros durante todo el año y lo que regalo me gusta hacerlo yo misma o comprar algo artesanal... así que gracias por las nuevas ideas, las tendré en cuenta! and talking about gifts.... thanks a lot for all your comments on the giveaway's post!! I really enjoyed read what you like to make as a gift on holidays and I love the idea that you also like give handmade or vintage presents too. A few years ago Alex and I decided not give christmas presents anymore, just because we dont want get carried away by the compulsive habit of consumption, but by the end of each year I like to give a small detail to some people who were close to us throughout the year and I like make the gifts or buy something handmade... so thanks for the new ideas, I'll have in mind!

usando una simple serie de luces, un viejo florero, ahora tengo una nueva iluminación en la ventana de mi cocina... using simply string lights, an old flower vase and now I have new lighting in my kitchen window...

El fin pasó rápido en casa pero me voy a la cama con una sensación de calma y olor de granola casera recién horneada... The weekend passed quickly at home but I go to bed with a great calm feeling and a delicious smell of freshly baked homemade granola...

Hola! les cuento emocionada que después de que Alex me hizo el soporte de madera para mis cintas, hizo más para mi tienda, así que ahora tengo un colaborador y me encanta que sea él... si quieren ver los modelos que terminó sólo pinchen aquí  ...lucen lindos, verdad?

y algo más que tengo para compartir... el año pasado Alex y yo regalamos a nuestros familiares y amigos un calendario de 2011, como un presente de fin de año. En ese tiempo Alex me dijo que por qué no hacía un calendario con algunas de mis fotos... fue sólo una idea, pero teniendo en cuenta que se acercan de nuevo las fiestas, hace unas semanas decidí hacerlo y les presento mi recién llegado calendario 2012! es algo especial para mí, pues las fotos que elegí han sido algunas de mis favoritas que he publicado aquí, por lo que definitivamente está ligado con mi blog y la relación que tengo con todos ustedes, algo que verdaderamente aprecio mucho...♥ ♥ ♥

At that time Alex said me it would be great make a calendar using some of my photos ... it was just an idea, but considering that holidays are comming again, a few weeks ago I decided to do it, and finally I present you my calendar 2012! it's special to me because I chose the some of my favorite photos I've posted here, so it's definitely linked to my blog and the relationship I have with you, something that I really appreciate it...♥ ♥ ♥
Decidí imprimir una edición de 50 calendarios. Algunos calendarios los haré llegar a nuestros familiares y amigos al fin de este año, otros tantos los tengo disponibles en mi tienda pero también quiero compartirlo con ustedes.
